TRR nonsense has gone a long way towards ruining the town of Rumford

The recent sarcastic article at TRR poking fun at the Rumford Police Department is a good indicator of the mentality of the folks that are associated with that site. They had been pretty good lately and people on the River Valley Free Press Forum had seemed to all but forgotten about them. It seems the TRR crew just doesn’t have it in them to act like responsible citizens all the time though.

I believe that their behavior continues to tear down the town of Rumford far worse than anything else in this town.

They have worked hard to destroy the Fire Department and have made a total mess out of that department. Morale there remains at an all time low and the budget is now a complete mess. The only reason that things have stayed together there as well as they have is because of the professionalism of the people in those positions

Now they are starting on the Police Department again and I doubt they will be happy until they make a total mess over there too. They have already started to ruin that department with their petty attacks, inaccurate, biased “statistics” and now their sarcasm.

The people that work in these departments will only tolerate the political climate TRR is creating for so long. Detective Mark Cayer left last spring and directly said he was leaving because of the political nonsense in this town. This is the quote from the Sun Journal. “He blamed the situation on political differences between selectmen who should be focusing their energies on economic development instead of petty attacks on one another, Cayer said”

It’s just a matter of time before more good people follow.

The people associated with the TRR are doing their utmost to ruin this town.

Why can’t they see that? Why do they continue to do so?

I don't beleive the TRR or the selctman realize the amount of money and training hours they have invested in the personell. Rumford is going to become a training ground for larger towns until they realize and value its employees.

I have an uncle on the force in Rumford, he's been there a loooong time, so if you now the men on the force, I need not mention his name. These types of posts have no place on a blog that calls itself a "reporter". What is exactly being reported...nothing, just a sarcastic rambling that is neither helpful nor productive. I would be happy to see an apology from TRR, but it probably won't happen.

Well stated, long overdue, and unfortunate more people have not wisened up to these tactics. Having served on the board of selectmen recent past and watched the shenanigans of a certain few, I can tell you this. There is a majority of current selectmen who have overstepped their authority, inflicted their will in the name of the majority when in reality it was something they felt would be better for their own interest. Micro managing of various department heads, personal vendettas carried out over time against department heads and individuals of certain departments has and remains a priority. In essence they know how to run a police department, fire department, maintain a public works department, and feel they are more qualified to oversee day
to day affairs in a town hall better than a professional town manager. The one they have now is an extension to do their bidding. They have been in bed together for quite some time. Buckle up Rumford, drug testing may include citizens on a random basis. What a joke. That clown ought to be tested regularly to ensure he is taking his drugs, without them God only knows what will be next. Right now it's a no win situation for te citizens of this community who need to work full time jobs, and don't have the time to devote to local politics. Seems like its for the semi or retired people who are so out of touch with reality that most people just turn away rather than get rid of them. Unfortunately we amde our choices, and we must accept the consequences of those choices, and it i not good for our future here.
